Hello Nikhil, Most bread molds are found in the phylum Zygomycota. This phylum contains between 600 to 700 species. Consequently there are many different species of fungus which are commonly refered to as bread molds. Rhizopus stolonifer which is refered to as Black Bread Mold seems to be one of the more commonly observed bread molds. Other species of Rhizopus also cause bread molds such as Rhizopus nigricans. Hope this helps. Chris cyost@telusplanet.net
